Finally you can pull out all your favorite Nintendo, Super Nintendo, Genesis, and G Factor games and play them again like new! From the makers of the FC Twin and GN Twin, the FC 3 Plus Gaming System is a top-loading console with a slot for each of the three game cartridges it can accept. Never have to worry about hooking/unhooking cords and cables when you want to switch between old school gaming consoles. And gone are the days of blowing into your console or hitting reset until the thing finally works.

Features:

  • Brand new system that plays all of your original USA NES , Super NES, Genesis,l and G Factor games
  • System comes with all necessary cords, A/V cables w/ improved picture and sound, A/C adapter, and a free Light Gun. Everything you need to start playing is included with this system.
  • Top loading design eliminates the need for moving parts, which means no more blinking lights, no more blowing into your games to try and make them work!
  • The two included specially designed controllers imitate the original Sega Genesis controllers, with A, B, C, X, Y, and Z buttons, except that you use these controllers to play your NES/SNES games as well! The X and Y buttons, which are not found on the original NES controllers, act as turbo buttons when playing NES games. Note: Only the included FC3 controllers will work with the FC3 system.
  • You can even put an NES game in the NES slot, a Genesis game in the Genesis slot, and a Super NES game in the third slot at the same time, and switch between the three whenever you want! The cords, adapters, and A/V cables that are included with this system are all exactly the same no matter which mode you are playing, so there is no hassle with switching cords/adapters, etc... Just plug it in once and you're done.
  • Light Gun is only compatible with NES games, and is not compatible with LCD or Plasma TVs

Ours worked for 10 days, then stopped playing NES games. The system is flimsy one of the game slot doors broke on the first day .It is difficult to get the games in and out of the slots . Very disappointed.

The console by itself is decent, but as the previous reviewer mentioned, the controller layout just doesn't feel right for NES or SNES. However, this is easily resolved with a bit of clever wiring. The controllers themselves send NES/SNES signals, so rewiring an NES or SNES controller to work with the console is not hard at all. The pinout for the standard controller cables is as follows: Red = VCC, White = Ground, Brown = CLK, Yellow = Latch, Blue = Data. You can either wire an SNES or NES controller directly to the FC3 cable/plug, or you can wire up a controller extension cable with this configuration, and it will work perfectly. SNES controllers are backward-compatible with the NES, so Y and B on the SNES pad will be mapped to B and A for NES games. This should resolve the biggest problem with this console for you, leaving only the issues of A/V output quality and compatibility, but for the most part, these are acceptable. Another thing that should be mentioned is that this console is capable of running US or Japanese games. For the NES, a 72-pin to 60-pin converter is necessary, but SNES and Genesis should work mostly out of the box. For the Genesis, there is a US/Japan region switch located on the back of the console. In order to run Japanese Super Famicom (SNES) games, all you need to do is clip off the two plastic tabs at the back of the SNES cartridge slot. So to summarize, this console has a pretty good bang for your buck, and I definitely recommend picking one up for some fun.

This system works flawlessly. The only bad thing is the controller. It is set up like a Sega controller, so the A and B buttons are reversed compared to Nintendo. Takes time to get use to after playing Nintendo for 15 years with a different button setup. If you are into Nintendo more than Sega I would recommend getting the system with the NES and SNES.
